Tips for Creating Outline Drawings

In this quick video Colin offers tips for creating and adjusting your outline drawings on pastel paper before colour the picture using pastel pencils. The steps Colin refers to are:

  • Make your outline drawing (either using Square Drawing Grids or free hand)
  • Scan the drawing into your computer
  • Lighten the image on your computer so the lines appear fainter
  • Print out onto your pastel paper using your home printer
  • Using an F grade pencil, go over your drawing and make adjustments or strengthen where necessary
